Grapestone - solo exhibition

Grapestone is a collection of marbled paintings created from a process heavy exploration of the marbling technique.

About this work:

Floating on the surface of water, ink will initially take on a circular shape. Using a needle point, the ink is molded into an intentional form through a series of guiding gestures. As attention is given elsewhere in the bath, previous forms begin to contort. Perceptive to its environment, each form changes with time, the introduction of more ink into the bath, and the movement of the water. In this work boundaries and pairings are used to create relationships on paper and color is a source for ideas to mushroom.
